CME Credits

CME Credits

IV WORLD ASTHMA & COPD FORUM—the Continuing Medical Education (CME) activity—has received accreditation from the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) 4, Ave Ste-Luce, 1003 Lausanne, Switzerland.

European accreditation is granted by EBAP following the EACCME standards (D9908) in order to allow participants to validate the credits obtained at this activity in their home European country. Following EBAP’s evaluation, the above-mentioned CME activity has been accredited by EBAP for 18 European CME credits.  By accepting the European Accreditation the provider accepts the quality requirements for CME activities as agreed upon by EBAP.

Through a reciprocity agreement signed in 1999 and renewed until 2006 by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the UEMS, EACCME credits will be available to US doctors. EAACCME credits are recognized in Europe and by the AMA towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EAACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, doctors from the USA will need to contact Marilyn Maldonada at the AMA, telephone (1-312) 464-4941 upon return.
